Called to Serve: Vocations and the Church

The Lord calls each of us to live a life of holiness, a life of friendship with God. It is a call that we acknowledge, or others acknowledge for us at Baptism, a call we respond to as we follow the Commandments and the precepts of the Church. It is the Universal Call to Holiness. There are also specific vocations in which one gives oneself entirely to the Lord.  The Diocese of Faisalabad is blessed with a good number of vocations. In fact priests from the diocese are serving as "fidei donum" priests in all of the dioceses of Pakistan.

"Our Lord is our model, let us take up our cross and follow Him."

As the Pauline Year draws to an end, Pope Benedict XVI proclaimed the “Year for Priests” which began on June 19, 2009, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The pope chose this year because it marks the 150th anniversary of the death of the patron saint of parish priests, St. John Vianney,

Connecting Catholics with the Life of the Church

“What we have seen and heard we proclaim now to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; for our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.” (1 John 1:3). The work of evangelizing and catechizing the faithful, particularly in the rural areas,  is carried out with a team of trained full-time Catechists who assist the priests in this work.
